What are your candles made of?
The Urban Scent candles are made with all-natural soy wax.
Where are you candles made?
All our candles are hand-poured and hand-packaged in New Jersey.
Do you have a store I can visit in-person?
We are an online store only. You can visit our site at www.theurbanscent.com
How long do your candles last?
Our 7.5oz soy candles last approximately 40-45 hours.
Please remember to keep the wick trimmed and only burn them for 4-5 hours at a time.
Why should I trim the wick and only burn your candles for 4-5 hours at a time?
These are common instructions and good practices for any candle and are meant to prolong a candle’s burn time. A longer wick creates a larger flame, a larger flame melts the wax faster, and the wax melts faster than the wick burns away. So, the longer your candle burns, the larger the flame gets, causing your candle to melt faster and faster. Keeping the wick trimmed and burning 4-5 hours at a time slows everything down so you get a longer burn time.
Additionally, burning your candle for 4-5 hours at a time ensures that the wax melts all the way to the edge of the container. The melted wax (not the flame) is what gives off your candle’s scent, so this will maximize your candle’s scent when lit. It will also prevent your candle from “tunneling” or burning a hole down the center of the candle while leaving a ring of un-melted wax along the inside of the container.
What makes an all-natural soy wax candle different?
While paraffin wax is refined from crude oil, soy wax is made from soybeans- a completely renewable resource grown here in the US. Compared to paraffin, soy wax burns cleaner with no petrol-carbon soot. Soy wax also burns slower than paraffin, so soy wax candles also last longer.

Do you offer any discounts on large orders?

Can the jar be repurposed?
When a 1/4" of wax remains, discontinue use of candle. Place your candle in the freezer, and once the wax hardens, it can be chipped out along with the wick. If there is more than a little bit of wax left, we recommend the "oven method" - place your candle in a warm oven and allow the wax to liquify. Carefully dump and compost the wax out and wipe clean. Soap and water can then be used to remove the wax residue. Use to store pens, plant succulents in or just recycle!
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
Orders received before 3pm EST will begin processing on the same business day. Orders received after 3pm EST will begin processing on the next business day from when the order was received. Orders received on weekends or holidays will begin processing on the next business day from when the order was received.
How can I track my order?
You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped. If for some reason you did not receive this information, let us know at customerservice@theurbanscent.com and we will send it over.
What shipping method do you use?
We mostly use USPS Priority Mail or Flat Rate.
Do you ship internationally?
No, not currently at this time.
